Role Overview
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research laboratory to improve next-generation AI systems used in healthcare revenue cycle management.
The organization is seeking experienced Patient Financial Counseling and Financial Clearance leaders to evaluate and improve AI tools supporting financial clearance operations, charity care programs, patient financial assistance workflows, and self-pay revenue cycle management.
Responsibilities
Patient Financial Counseling & Clearance
- Lead patient financial counseling and financial clearance operations
- Manage workflows related to charity care screening, financial assistance applications, self-pay account resolution, and pre-service financial clearance
Financial Screening & Eligibility
- Screen patients for Medicaid eligibility, charity care qualification, and financial assistance enrollment
AI Evaluation & Quality Review
- Review AI-generated financial counseling recommendations, eligibility screening outputs, and patient communication drafts
- Evaluate outputs for accuracy, compliance, appropriateness, and clarity
- Annotate AI outputs and provide structured feedback for AI training datasets
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with 501(r) requirements, EMTALA regulations, and financial assistance policies
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Patient Financial Counseling, Financial Clearance, or Self-Pay Revenue Cycle Management
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of charity care programs, financial assistance eligibility, and Medicaid screening
- Experience with Epic, Cerner, or financial assistance management tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) or similar certification
- Experience with presumptive eligibility screening tools or Medicaid enrollment facilitation
