Job description

In this remote contractor role, you will work as an Intellectual Property (IP) Subject Matter Expert (SME) reviewing AI-generated IP-related responses and creating expert intellectual property content.

The work focuses on evaluating legal reasoning, IP issue spotting, rights analysis, licensing considerations, infringement risks, and procedural accuracy while providing detailed written feedback that improves AI model performance.

Important Note

There is currently no active project attached to this role.

Qualified candidates will join the expert network and may be among the first professionals contacted when relevant opportunities become available.

What You'll Do

Review AI Responses

  • Evaluate AI-generated intellectual property answers

  • Assess:

    • Accuracy
    • Clarity
    • Completeness
    • Defensibility
    • Prompt adherence
  • Identify:

    • IP issue-spotting errors
    • Rights analysis mistakes
    • Ownership issues
    • Licensing gaps
    • Infringement analysis flaws
    • Procedural inaccuracies
    • Citation issues

Create Expert Content

  • Develop detailed prompts and gold-standard solutions
  • Create content covering:
    • IP issue analyses
    • Clause rewrites
    • Licensing guidance
    • Checklists
    • Policy-style documentation
    • Scenario walkthroughs

Improve AI Performance

  • Compare and rank multiple AI responses
  • Improve:
    • Correctness
    • Clarity
    • Defensibility
    • Risk awareness

Ensure Model Integrity

  • Test outputs for:
    • Inaccuracies
    • Misleading certainty
    • Confidentiality risks
    • Bias
    • Reliability issues

Required Qualifications

  • JD, LLB, or equivalent law degree
  • Active bar membership or eligibility in at least one jurisdiction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Patent office registration for patent-focused work

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in one or more areas of:
    • Copyright law
    • Trademark law
    • Patent law
    • Trade secret law
    • Licensing
    • Intellectual property litigation
    • Intellectual property counseling

Experience may come from:
