Job description

As a Computational Biology Expert, you will apply your expertise in bioinformatics, genomics, and computational analysis to help train next-generation AI systems.

This role focuses on evaluating AI-generated outputs, benchmarking biological workflows, and contributing expert scientific reasoning across real-world computational biology scenarios.

Your work will directly support AI systems operating in:

  • Genomics
  • Transcriptomics

  • Systems biology
  • Bioinformatics analysis

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, annotate, and benchmark AI systems across computational biology workflows

  • Assess AI-generated outputs for:

    • Scientific accuracy
    • Relevance
    • Biological validity
    • Workflow quality
  • Review and analyze:

    • Genomics pipelines
    • Transcriptomics workflows
    • Systems biology scenarios
    • Bioinformatics analyses
  • Apply advanced scientific reasoning to identify:

    • Workflow issues
    • Pipeline weaknesses
    • Opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide biological context and expert feedback

  • Document findings clearly with actionable scientific insights

  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Stay current with developments in:

    • Computational biology
    • Bioinformatics
    • AI/ML in biology

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in:
    • Biology
    • Bioinformatics
    • Related scientific disciplines

or equivalent research/industry experience.

  • Strong experience with:

    • Computational biology workflows
    • Bioinformatics analysis
    • Data-driven biological research
  • Proficiency in:

    • Python
    • R
    • Bash
  • Experience with tools such as:

    • BWA
    • GATK
    • STAR
    • Salmon
    • Seurat
    • Scanpy
  • Deep understanding of:

    • Genomics
    • Transcriptomics
    • Structural biology
    • Systems biology
  • Strong:

    • Scientific reasoning
    • Analytical thinking
    • Problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working remotely within distributed technical teams

  • Experience involving:

    • AI/ML evaluation
    • LLM evaluation

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • NGS pipelines
    • CRISPR workflows
    • AlphaFold
    • PyMOL
  • Published research or open-source contributions in:
