Job description

SME Careers is seeking experienced Legal Experts to contribute expertise toward improving advanced AI systems on legal reasoning, legal analysis, and policy-focused tasks.

This remote contractor role focuses on reviewing, evaluating, and improving AI-generated legal analyses and legal reasoning across a wide range of legal disciplines and real-world legal scenarios.

Contributors will help improve how AI systems understand and communicate:

  • Compliance frameworks
  • Legal issue spotting
  • Jurisdictional analysis
  • Legal writing and explanation quality

This is an expert network opportunity. While there may not be an immediate active project, qualified candidates may be prioritized for future assignments and long-term AI training initiatives.

  • Create and refine:

    • AI training prompts
    • Legal explanations
    • Model legal solutions
    • Legal reasoning tasks
  • Rank and compare AI-generated responses based on:

    • Correctness
    • Legal methodology
    • Reasoning quality
    • Communication clarity
  • Test AI systems for:

    • Inaccuracies
    • Biases
    • Weak legal reasoning
    • Reliability issues

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in:

    • Law (JD/LLB)
    • Legal Studies
    • Public Policy
    • Political Science
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in:

    • Law
    • Legal studies
    • Public policy
    • Political science
  • Strong understanding of:

    • Constitutional law
    • Contracts

    • Administrative law
  • Strong skills in:
