Junior Software Engineer - Python Knowledge Expert

Overview

Join Meta's GenAI team to support the development of cutting-edge AI models. We're looking for a junior Python developer to contribute to data pipelines, tooling, and automation that power our AI training workflows. This is a remote, flexible opportunity to collaborate with Meta's AI research and operations teams.

What You'll Do

• Python Development: Write, test, and maintain Python scripts and tools that support AI data pipelines and annotation workflows.
• Automation & Tooling: Build and improve internal automation to streamline data processing, quality checks, and reporting.
• Data Processing: Work with structured and unstructured data to prepare training datasets for AI models.
• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality, well-documented code.
• Debugging & Maintenance: Troubleshoot issues in existing codebases, write unit tests, and contribute to code reviews.

Qualifications

• Technical Skills:

  • Fluent with core Python libraries (e.g., pandas, requests, json, os/sys).
  • Comfortable working in a shared codebase with a branch-based workflow: branches, pull requests, code review, and resolving merge conflicts.
  • Basic understanding of APIs, data formats (JSON, CSV), and scripting.
  • Exposure to SQL or data querying tools.

• Experience: 1+ year of professional or hands-on project experience with Python.

• Communication: Clear written communication skills; ability to document code and processes.

• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to break down problems and implement clean, functional solutions.

• Adaptability: Willingness to learn new tools and frameworks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Jupyter notebooks or similar interactive environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts.

This posting is for a contract assignment with Tundra Technical Solutions to provide services to Meta.

The pay range that Tundra in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $30 – 40 hour. Tundra’s benefits offering includes optional medical, dental, vision, retirement benefits, up to 15 Days PTO per annum and a New Child Benefit.
