UK-Based UX/UI Product Designer

Mercor is recruiting UK-based UX/UI Product Designers with technical web engineering experience for a research project with a leading frontier AI lab. This opportunity is intended for experienced product designers who have designed end-to-end digital products and understand how modern web applications are built and delivered.
The role focuses on evaluating and creating high-quality UX/UI product scenarios rather than producing production-ready designs. Successful candidates will leverage their expertise in user experience, interface design, product flows, technical constraints, and design-to-engineering collaboration to improve next-generation AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate UX/UI Product Scenarios
- Create, review, and evaluate high-quality UX/UI product scenarios.
- Assess product design quality using real-world product design expertise.
Design Functional Digital Products
Work with products such as:
- E-commerce platforms
- Marketplaces
- Customer portals
- Booking and checkout flows
- User onboarding journeys
- Account management experiences
- Internal tools and operations dashboards
Collaborate Across Product Teams
- Apply knowledge of design systems and component-based design.
- Understand design-to-engineering handoff best practices.
- Consider responsive design, technical constraints, and implementation trade-offs.
- Collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, and analytics teams.
Required Qualifications
Professional experience designing end-to-end UX/UI for digital web products.
Strong understanding of:
- User experience design
- User interface design
- Product workflows
- Responsive web applications
- Front-end engineering constraints
- Design systems
Experience collaborating closely with engineering and product teams.
Must be based in the United Kingdom with the legal right to work in the UK.

- Or similar leading digital product, UX/UI, or product engineering consultancies.
