About the Study

Mercor is building a more accurate version of O*NET, the U.S. government's occupational database that describes professions and the work they involve. This study gathers insights directly from experienced accountants to improve how the accounting profession is represented.

What You'll Do

  • Complete a one-time online survey or interview about your day-to-day work as an accountant.
  • The survey takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
  • Qualified participants may be invited to complete additional paid surveys, tasks, or short interviews afterward.

Who We're Looking For

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • At least 2 years of professional experience working specifically as an Accountant or Auditor (SOC 13-2011).
  • Currently based in the United States.
  • Currently working as an accountant, or have worked in the role recently.
  • Must have actual professional accounting experience.

This opportunity is not intended for:

  • Accounting students without professional accounting experience.
  • Professionals with only general finance experience who have never worked as an accountant.

Compensation

  • $39 per hour.
  • The initial survey takes approximately 30 minutes, with compensation prorated accordingly.
  • Additional follow-up work, if offered, will be paid separately.

Work Arrangement

  • One-time project.
  • Fully remote.
  • Flexible schedule.

Contract & Payment Terms

  • Independent contractor engagement.
  • Remote work.
  • Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise for approved work.
  • Projects may be extended or concluded based on business needs.
  • Mercor is unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time.
