Job description
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab to improve frontier AI systems through expert evaluation of clinical and biomedical reasoning. As a Healthcare Expert, you will compare AI-generated responses to complex medical problems, assessing their clinical accuracy, safety, evidence-based reasoning, and overall quality. Your expertise will help shape how next-generation AI models reason about diagnosis, treatment, and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
AI Response Evaluation
- Compare two AI-generated responses to the same clinical or biomedical prompt.
- Determine which response demonstrates superior medical reasoning and overall quality.
- Evaluate outputs using established clinical standards and evidence-based medicine.
Clinical Review
- Review provided case materials and each model's reasoning process.
- Assess responses for:
- Clinical accuracy
- Patient safety
- Diagnostic reasoning
- Treatment recommendations
- Evidence-based decision making
- Identify errors, omissions, unsafe recommendations, or unsupported conclusions.
Feedback & Documentation
- Provide clear, structured explanations supporting evaluation decisions.
- Write actionable feedback that helps improve future AI model performance.
- Participate in onboarding sessions and specialty calibration exercises to ensure evaluation consistency.
Required Qualifications
- MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, or another advanced clinical or biomedical degree, or equivalent professional experience.
- 2+ years of professional experience in one or more of:
- Clinical practice
- Medical research
- Biomedical research
- Healthcare specialty practice
- Strong understanding of current clinical guidelines and evidence-based medicine.
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
Compensation
- $150 per hour
