OneForma is looking for participants based in South Africa and Brazil to join an exciting remote AI research project focused on ego-centric (first-person) video data collection.
Participants will record everyday household activities using their own compatible smartphone mounted at eye level, capturing natural first-person video of routine tasks performed at home. The recordings will help create high-quality datasets that support the development of AI systems capable of understanding real-world human activities and physical interactions.
This is a flexible, home-based remote project for individuals who are comfortable recording everyday activities and interested in contributing to the advancement of next-generation AI technologies.
Purpose:
The purpose of this project is to help train AI systems that better understand how people perform everyday physical tasks in real home environments through high-quality first-person video recordings.
Main Requirements:
- Must be based in South Africa (English speaker) or Brazil (Portuguese speaker).
- Must own a compatible smartphone:
- iPhone 12 or newer
- Google Pixel 6 or newer
- Samsung Galaxy S21 or newer
- Must be willing to wear a head-mounted smartphone while recording.
- Must have access to a well-lit home environment.
- Must be able to record sessions lasting 30 minutes to 2 hours.
- Must have reliable Wi-Fi to upload recordings after each session.
- Must be able to follow setup instructions provided through the project app.
Other Important Information:
- This is a fully remote, home-based data collection project.
- Participants will record authentic, everyday household activities from a first-person perspective. Example activities may include:
- Tidying and organizing rooms
- Washing and putting away dishes
- Doing laundry (washing, folding, and putting away)
- Cooking, cleaning, vacuuming, and other routine household tasks
- No acting or staged scenarios are required—natural daily activities are encouraged.
- A compatible smartphone and willingness to wear a head-mounted phone are mandatory for participation.
- The project app must be downloaded to complete the recordings.
- Recording sessions range from 30 minutes up to 2 hours, depending on the assigned tasks.
