Job description
AI / Emerging Tech Security Analyst
About the Role
What if your security expertise could directly shape how the world's most powerful AI systems defend themselves against attack? We're looking for AI Security Analysts to dig into real adversarial scenarios — probing how frontier models behave under pressure, identifying vulnerabilities, and helping ensure AI systems remain safe and aligned with security best practices.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for security professionals who are curious about AI and want to work at the cutting edge of one of technology's most critical challenges.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Analyze AI and LLM security scenarios to understand how models behave under adversarial or unexpected conditions
- Investigate prompt injection, data leakage, model abuse, and system misuse cases against real-world threat models
- Classify security issues and recommend appropriate mitigations based on impact, likelihood, and risk severity
- Evaluate AI system behavior and provide structured feedback to improve safety and reliability
- Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Background in cybersecurity, information security, or a closely related technical field
- Solid understanding of modern threat modeling, attack surfaces, and security risk assessment
- Genuinely curious about how AI systems are built, deployed, and potentially exploited
- Analytical and precise — you think in edge cases and know how to document findings clearly
- Self-motivated and consistent when working independently without supervision
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with penetration testing, red teaming, or vulnerability research
- Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), AI APIs, or ML system architectures
- Background in application security, cloud security, or DevSecOps
- Experience with adversarial machine learning concepts or AI safety research
- Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, CISSP, or equivalent
Why Join Us
- Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside world-leading research labs
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
- Contribute to AI security at a moment when it has never mattered more
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
