Remote QA leadership opportunity for experienced biology professionals to oversee AI training quality, review biological reasoning and life sciences content, evaluate experimental logic and scientific accuracy, ensure biosafety awareness, and support contributors across biology AI projects.
Biochemist
Job description
Biochemist – AI Data Trainer
About the Role
Your deep expertise in biochemistry is more valuable than you might think — beyond the lab. We're partnering with the world's leading AI research teams to build smarter, more scientifically rigorous AI models, and we need PhD-level biochemists to help make it happen.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where you'll use your domain knowledge to challenge, audit, and refine advanced AI systems on complex biochemical topics. No AI background needed — your science is the skill.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design Challenging Problems — Create advanced biochemistry questions and scenarios across domains like protein folding, metabolic flux analysis, nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, and drug-target interactions to rigorously test AI performance.
- Author Gold-Standard Solutions — Write precise, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for high-level scientific reasoning in AI systems.
- Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical proofs for technical accuracy, scientific validity, and safety.
- Sharpen AI Reasoning — Identify logical errors in AI responses — such as incorrect stoichiometry, misapplied enzyme kinetics, or flawed stereochemistry — and provide structured feedback to improve model performance on life science tasks.
Who You Are
- Advanced Degree: PhD (completed or in final stages) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field
- Domain Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge in areas such as structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, bioinformatics, or molecular genetics
- Clear Communicator: Able to translate highly technical biological and chemical concepts into precise, well-structured written explanations
- Detail-Oriented: High level of precision when reviewing complex chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental protocols
- No prior AI experience required
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or scientific peer review
- Familiarity with computational biochemistry tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST
- Background in bioinformatics or cheminformatics
