Accountant

This is a remote contractor opportunity for experienced accounting professionals to help train and evaluate advanced AI systems.

As an Accounting Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will review AI-generated accounting and finance responses, create expert accounting content, evaluate accounting reasoning, and provide detailed feedback on technical accuracy, financial reporting, bookkeeping logic, and accounting best practices.

This role focuses on improving AI capabilities across accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close processes, internal controls, and financial analysis.

Important Note

There is no immediate active project attached to this role.

Qualified applicants will join the expert network and may be contacted first when future accounting-related opportunities become available.

Key Responsibilities

Develop AI Training Content

Create expert-level accounting deliverables including:

• Journal entries
• Reconciliation logic
• Month-end close procedures
• Accounting explanations
• Scenario analyses
• Accounting process documentation

Evaluate AI Outputs

Review and rank AI-generated responses based on:

• Accuracy
• Completeness
• Accounting correctness
• Clarity
• Reasoning quality
• Compliance with accounting standards

Accounting Quality Assurance

Identify issues involving:

• Journal entries
• Bookkeeping logic
• Accrual accounting
• Prepaid expenses
• Deferred revenue
• Fixed assets
• Inventory accounting
• Payroll accounting
• Financial statement presentation

Financial Reporting Analysis

Evaluate and validate:

• Profit and loss statements
• Balance sheets
• Cash flow statements
• Account reconciliations
• Month-end close procedures
• Classification and presentation issues

Internal Controls & Compliance

Review accounting outputs for:

• Segregation of duties
• Approval controls
• Documentation standards
• Audit readiness
• Supporting schedules
• Cut-off procedures
• Business realism

Expert Feedback

Write detailed explanations demonstrating:

• Proper accounting treatment
• Correct journal entry logic
• GAAP/IFRS compliance
• Sound financial reasoning
• Accounting best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in:

  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Related fields

• Professional certifications such as:

  • CPA
  • ACCA
  • CMA

are strongly preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in:

  • Public accounting
  • Industry accounting
  • Shared services
  • Accounting advisory

• Strong expertise in:
