Job description

Electrical Engineering Expert (AI Training)

About the Role

We're looking for electrical engineering experts to help train and improve cutting-edge AI systems. Your deep technical knowledge will directly shape how AI reasons through complex engineering problems — from circuit analysis to power systems — making a real impact on the next generation of intelligent tools used by engineers worldwide.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where your expertise drives the work. You set your schedule and contribute on your own terms.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design Challenging Problems — Craft advanced electrical engineering problems across domains like circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, electromagnetics, and control systems to rigorously test AI performance
  • Author Gold-Standard Solutions — Write precise, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for AI learning and reasoning
  • Audit Technical Accuracy — Review and evaluate AI-generated responses, circuit diagrams, mathematical proofs, and code for correctness, safety, and adherence to standards such as IEEE and NEC
  • Refine AI Reasoning — Identify logical errors or gaps in AI-generated engineering reasoning and provide structured feedback to improve model performance
  • Work Asynchronously — Complete assignments independently on your own schedule with no mandatory meeting times

Who You Are

  • Pursuing or holding a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Strong foundational expertise in one or more core domains: VLSI, control systems, telecommunications, power electronics, or signal processing
  • Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and precisely in written form
  • Detail-oriented with a high standard for accuracy in mathematical equations, circuit logic, and technical documentation
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI feedback systems
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as MATLAB, SPICE, or similar
  • Background in embedded systems, robotics, or engineering standards compliance

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects in collaboration with world-leading AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Gain rare, first-hand exposure to how advanced large language models are trained and evaluated
  • Contribute to work that meaningfully advances AI capabilities in science and engineering
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
