This opportunity is seeking experienced Performance Engineers with strong expertise in:

- Compiler-related performance topics
- Low-level infrastructure optimization
The role centers around improving AI training and inference infrastructure through hands-on technical work involving C++, Python, and Rust.
This is a W-2 employment position through Cincinnatus LLC, with placement opportunities supporting a leading AI laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
Guide research and engineering teams on:
- Systems optimization
- Runtime performance
- Compiler engineering
- AI infrastructure efficiency
Design technically challenging performance engineering tasks across multiple systems domains
Write structured and accurate solutions for:
- Performance optimization problems
- Systems engineering scenarios
- Runtime efficiency challenges
Evaluate engineering tasks and provide clear written technical feedback
Develop:
- Evaluation rubrics
- Systems design guidelines
- Performance benchmarking frameworks
for AI-related workloads.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to maintain:
- Technical accuracy
- Consistency
- Data quality
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in:
- Performance engineering
- Systems programming
- Low-level optimization
Deep expertise in at least one of:
- C++
- Python
- Rust
Working familiarity across the remaining languages is strongly preferred
Proven track record of measurable production performance improvements such as:
- Latency reduction
- Throughput optimization
- Memory footprint reduction
Demonstrated professional growth and career progression
Ability to reliably contribute at least:
- 30 hours/week
- Weekday availability required
Strong written communication and technical explanation skills
