Role Overview
Mercor is seeking a Norwegian Audio Generalist Evaluator Expert to support a high-impact AI audio research project.
In this role, you will transcribe, evaluate, annotate, and assess Norwegian audio and video content used to train and benchmark advanced language models. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong analytical, linguistic, or research-oriented backgrounds who are fluent in Norwegian and English.
Key Responsibilities
Transcribe & Optimize Audio and Video
- Listen to and transcribe Norwegian audio and video content
- Produce high-quality written outputs in Norwegian and English
- Ensure formatting, clarity, and stylistic consistency
- Capture nuances including:
- Tone
- Intent
- Formal vs informal language
- Regional dialect variations
Define Evaluation Standards
- Develop evaluation rubrics and grading guidelines
- Establish quality expectations for AI-generated responses
- Document linguistic nuances and edge cases specific to Norwegian
- Maintain consistency across reviewers and evaluation tasks
Conduct AI Model Testing
- Run prompts through AI language models
- Evaluate outputs for:
- Accuracy
- Completeness
- Fluency
- Instruction-following
- Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance
Quality Assurance & Benchmarking
- Participate in QA and review cycles
- Ensure datasets and outputs meet Mercor quality standards
- Collaborate with project leads to improve workflows and task design
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Norwegian
- Professional fluency in English
- Strong writing, editing, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to accurately transcribe and analyze Norwegian audio content
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Availability for 10–20 hours per week
