Role Overview

Join Mercor as a Chemistry Expert and contribute to training advanced AI systems through high-quality technical content.

In this role, you will author, review, and annotate chemistry-related tasks used to evaluate AI model performance. Your work will directly impact how AI systems understand and solve complex chemistry problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Author and review technical chemistry problem sets
• Create tasks involving:
• Reaction schemes
• Spectra (NMR, IR, MS)
• Phase diagrams
• Write clear, structured reference solutions
• Apply quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Annotate and evaluate AI-generated chemistry outputs

Required Skills & Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering

OR MS + 3+ years experience

OR BS + 5+ years lab/research experience

• Strong knowledge in at least two of:
• Organic chemistry
• Inorganic chemistry
• Physical chemistry
• Analytical chemistry
• Biochemistry
• Ability to interpret:
• Reaction mechanisms
• Spectra (NMR, IR, MS)
• Phase diagrams
• Strong technical writing skills
• Ability to explain reasoning step-by-step

Work Details

• Commitment: ~20 hours/week
• Work Type: Fully remote
