Role Overview
Mercor is seeking experienced Retail Banking Experts to support AI training initiatives focused on consumer banking operations and financial services workflows.
In this role, you will evaluate AI outputs and create realistic banking scenarios to improve how AI systems understand lending, compliance, and customer interactions in retail banking environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs related to:
- Consumer lending decisions
- Deposit account servicing
- Regulatory compliance
- Customer communication
- Create realistic retail banking scenarios such as:
- Mortgage origination
- Personal loan underwriting
- Account opening and closing
- Fraud escalation workflows
- Regulatory examinations
- Annotate and validate datasets across banking use cases
- Provide structured feedback on AI accuracy in areas such as:
- Reg Z, Reg E, TILA, RESPA
- BSA/AML compliance
- Banking terminology and product rules
- Collaborate with research teams to refine evaluation frameworks
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in retail banking or financial institutions
- Background in one or more of:
- Branch operations and management
- Consumer or mortgage lending
- Deposit operations and treasury services
- Compliance, risk, or audit (BSA/AML, CRA, fair lending)
- Relationship management or private banking
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate real-world workflows into structured evaluation tasks
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail
Nice to Have
- NMLS registration or relevant banking certifications
- Experience with AI, data annotation, or evaluation projects
