UK Domestic Tax Specialist
Job description
Mercor is seeking experienced UK Domestic Tax Specialists to review and improve AI-generated tax research content focused exclusively on UK domestic taxation. In this role, you will validate technical tax analyses, review supporting legal authorities, improve grading rubrics, and refine AI-generated answers to ensure they accurately reflect current UK tax legislation and HMRC guidance.
This is a short-term remote contract opportunity for experienced UK tax professionals with expertise in domestic taxation and technical tax research.
Key Responsibilities
Review AI Tax Research
- Review UK domestic tax research questions and AI-generated model answers.
- Validate the technical and legal accuracy of tax analyses.
- Rewrite model answers where necessary to align with current UK tax law.
Validate Legal Authorities
Review supporting legal references, including:
- UK tax legislation
- HMRC guidance
- Relevant case law
Ensure analyses reflect current legislation and recent tax developments.
Improve Evaluation Standards
Review and enhance grading rubrics for:
- Technical accuracy
- Completeness
- Consistency
- Legal correctness
Help improve AI-generated tax research quality through detailed technical review.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of professional UK tax experience.
One or more of the following qualifications:
- ACA
- ACCA
- CTA
- Chartered Accountant
- Solicitor
- Barrister
- Equivalent UK tax qualification
Deep expertise in UK domestic taxation.
Experience interpreting:
- UK tax legislation
- HMRC guidance
- UK tax case law
Experience preparing:
- Technical tax opinions
- Tax memoranda
- Compliance documentation
Excellent written communication and analytical skills.
