Role Overview
Mercor is conducting a research study to build a more accurate version of O*NET, the U.S. government's framework for describing occupations and workplace tasks.
Experienced insurance claims adjusters, examiners, and investigators are invited to participate in a paid, one-time survey or interview about their day-to-day responsibilities. The insights collected will help improve occupational data used for workforce research, career guidance, and AI systems.
This is a flexible, remote opportunity for U.S.-based claims professionals who are currently working in the profession or have done so recently.
What You'll Do
- Complete a one-time online survey or interview about your daily work as an insurance claims adjuster, examiner, or investigator.
- Share insights into your typical responsibilities, workflows, and claims-handling processes.
- The initial survey takes approximately 30 minutes.
Optional Follow-Up
Qualified participants may be invited to complete:
- Additional surveys
- Short research tasks
- Follow-up interviews
Any additional work will be compensated separately.
Ideal Qualifications
Applicants should meet all of the following:
- At least 2 years of experience working as an insurance claims adjuster, examiner, or investigator.
- Currently employed in one of these roles, or have worked in the role recently.
- Based in the United States.
- Must have worked directly in claims adjusting, claims examination, or claims investigation.
Not Eligible
The following are generally not eligible:
- Individuals with only general insurance experience.
- Office or administrative staff without claims responsibilities.
- Professionals who have not worked in claims.
- Individuals who left the profession many years ago.
Compensation
- Equivalent hourly rate: $37/hour
- Initial survey lasts approximately 30 minutes, with compensation prorated based on the expected completion time.
- Additional paid opportunities may be offered after the initial study.
Work Arrangement
- One-time paid research study.

- Weekly payments through Stripe or Wise.
