Technology (AI) Contractor
Remote (Global) $40 – $120/hr June 29, 2026

Job description

Software Testing Analyst (AI Training)

About the Role

What if your coding instincts could directly influence how AI writes software for millions of developers and businesses around the world? We're looking for Software Testing Analysts to put AI-generated code through its paces — running programs, hunting down bugs, and delivering the kind of sharp feedback that makes AI smarter and more reliable.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to anyone who can read and run code. You don't need a formal background in QA or software engineering — just a logical mind, an eye for detail, and the ability to think like someone determined to break things.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Run AI-generated code and evaluate whether it behaves correctly and as intended
  • Hunt for bugs, edge cases, logical errors, and unexpected behavior
  • Stress-test programs with inputs designed to expose weaknesses
  • Assess code readability, structure, and maintainability
  • Document test results clearly using structured evaluation formats
  • Provide actionable feedback that helps AI systems write better software
  • Work across a variety of programming languages and problem types

Who You Are

  • Comfortable reading and running simple programs in at least one programming language
  • Logical thinker with a methodical, detail-oriented approach
  • Confident using a code editor or online IDE (e.g., VS Code, Replit, or similar)
  • Clear and precise written communicator
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
  • No formal QA, software engineering, or AI experience required

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with multiple programming languages
  • Experience with debugging tools, unit testing, or test case design
  • Background in computer science, software development, or technical problem-solving
  • Prior exposure to AI-generated code or developer tooling

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Contribute directly to AI development that shapes the future of software engineering
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
