About the Role

What if your years of scientific training in genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex problems in biology? We're looking for biology experts to help build and refine cutting-edge AI models — designing challenging problems, evaluating scientific reasoning, and ensuring AI gets the biology right.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for working researchers, postdocs, and academics who want to apply their expertise in a high-impact, intellectually stimulating way — on their own schedule.

  • Organization: Alignerr

What You'll Do

  • Develop, solve, and review advanced biology problems with real-world scientific relevance
  • Apply your expertise in genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related disciplines to design complex, rigorous problem statements
  • Evaluate AI-generated scientific reasoning for accuracy, depth, and clarity
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to push the boundaries of AI scientific reasoning
  • Ensure scientific rigor and precision across all deliverables
  • Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Hold a Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, etc.)
  • Deep expertise in at least one of: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics
  • Comfortable coding in Python or R for research or analytical purposes
  • Exceptional written communicator — you can explain complex science with precision and clarity
  • Naturally rigorous and detail-oriented in your scientific thinking
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality review, or AI evaluation systems
  • Background in computational biology or systems biology
  • Experience writing or reviewing scientific literature or grant proposals
  • Familiarity with AI tools or large language model workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside the world's leading AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
