Content Writer (Contract)

Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.

Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic content and social marketing team focused on producing high-quality, search-optimized written content that connects customers with innovative advertising solutions through organic and AI-powered search experiences. In this role, you will balance strong editorial skills with a deep understanding of SEO and generative engine optimization (GEO) best practices to drive qualified traffic and meaningful engagement. You will contribute to a wide range of content formats, including evergreen blogs, FAQs, case studies, landing pages, and emails, while ensuring every piece is structured for discoverability across both traditional and AI-driven search environments. This position requires a collaborative mindset, as you will work cross-functionally with subject matter experts, SEO stakeholders, and social and content teams to maintain content quality, consistency, and brand alignment throughout the review and approval process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • - Create and edit optimized, educational content such as evergreen blogs, FAQs, and case studies targeting high-intent search queries

    - Conduct and apply SEO and GEO research, keyword research, and topic clustering to identify opportunities for net-new and refreshed performance-focused content

    - Structure content for organic and AI-driven search discovery to maximize visibility and engagement

    - Create and edit content including blogs and emails to support campaign efforts and one-off requests as applicable

    - Improve content quality, clarity, and scalability by surfacing new formats and content use cases and leveraging modern tooling including AI

    - Ensure content quality, consistency, and alignment with brand and accessibility standards

    - Apply writing best practices tailored to different audiences, products, and programs

    - Collaborate cross-functionally with social and content teams, subject matter experts, and SEO stakeholders to ensure content continuity and smooth review and approval workflows

Requirements:

  • 2 or more years of experience creating SEO and GEO-driven content, ideally within B2B technology or the advertising industry
  • Proven track record of producing long-form, educational content that maps to search and AI answer intent
  • Experience writing and editing across multiple content formats including blogs, emails, FAQs, case studies, and landing pages
  • Demonstrated ability to apply keyword research and topic clustering strategies to content planning and execution
  • Portfolio showcasing strong conceptual thinking, campaign execution, and versatility across digital, social, web, and content formats
  • SEO and GEO content strategy and execution with 2 to 4 or more years of demonstrated experience
  • Keyword research, search-intent mapping, and topic clustering with 2 to 4 or more years of demonstrated experience
  • Long-form educational B2B content writing and optimization with 2 to 4 or more years of demonstrated experience
  • Strong editorial skills with the ability to write clearly and effectively for diverse audiences and formats
  • Solid understanding of how to structure content for both traditional organic search and AI-powered discovery
  • Ability to manage multiple content projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with modern AI writing and content tooling to enhance productivity and scalability

Additional Details:

  • Location: Remote
  • Duration: 12 months
  • Pay Range*: $29 - $33
  • Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
  • Job Status: Non-Exempt
