Job description

Biotech Health Data Governance Lead (AI Training)

About the Role

What if your deep expertise in biotech data governance could directly shape how AI understands and works with clinical research data? We're looking for an experienced Biotech Health Data Governance Lead to ensure that research and clinical trial data is accurate, traceable, compliant, and ready to power scientific discovery, regulatory filings, and next-generation AI models.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for seasoned professionals in life sciences, clinical research, or regulated data environments who want meaningful, high-impact work on their own terms.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Govern biotech research and clinical trial data to ensure accuracy, lineage, and full auditability across scientific analysis and regulatory submissions
  • Define and enforce data policies covering classification, access controls, security, and metadata standards across research, clinical, regulatory, and partner teams
  • Enable secure, governed access to sensitive data for analytics, innovation, and external collaborations — while protecting confidential and patient-related information
  • Collaborate with scientific, IT, compliance, and business stakeholders to align data standards and streamline cross-functional workflows
  • Support AI model development by ensuring the data that feeds it meets the highest standards of quality, compliance, and traceability

Who You Are

  • Experienced in leading or implementing data governance programs within biotech, life sciences, clinical research, or regulated data environments
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, security, compliance frameworks, and regulatory expectations for research and clinical trial data
  • Skilled at bridging scientific, technical, and compliance teams to drive alignment on data standards and policies
  • Naturally detail-oriented with a systematic approach to data quality and auditability
  • Comfortable working independently in an asynchronous, remote environment

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training datasets
  • Familiarity with regulatory submission requirements (FDA, EMA, ICH guidelines)
  • Background in bioinformatics, health informatics, or clinical data management systems
  • Experience working with cross-functional or globally distributed teams

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI and life sciences projects alongside leading research teams
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, high-stakes work
  • Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and handles biotech and clinical data
  • Gain exposure to advanced AI models and how trustworthy data enables better science
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
