About the Role
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab to support a Frontier Code Agents project.
This role focuses on evaluating and improving frontier AI coding models through realistic security engineering workflows and structured technical assessments.
Contributors use professional security engineering expertise to review, compare, and improve AI-generated code, system architectures, and security implementations.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate AI Coding Agents
- Review AI-generated source code, system architectures, security implementations, and infrastructure configurations
Security Engineering Assessment
- Identify security vulnerabilities, implementation flaws, bugs, edge cases, and security-related failure modes
- Apply professional judgment to realistic security engineering scenarios
- Review application security controls, cloud security implementations, infrastructure security practices, and vulnerability management approaches
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of professional security engineering experience
- Experience in Application Security, Cloud Security, Infrastructure Security, Vulnerability Management, or Security Tooling
AI Coding Tools
Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or similar tools.

Compensation
- $400 per accepted task (~$85/hr effective rate)
