Job description
About the Role
This is a remote, hourly contractor role for a Finance Quality Assurance Lead (QAL) responsible for overseeing quality, consistency, and contributor performance across finance AI training projects.
You will review AI-generated finance content, evaluate trainer and QA work, provide detailed feedback, maintain quality standards, support onboarding efforts, and ensure compliance with finance review guidelines and project rubrics.
The role combines finance expertise, quality assurance, AI evaluation, contributor management, risk review, documentation, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Monitoring
- Review finance training items and QA outputs
- Identify recurring quality issues and financial-review errors
- Provide actionable feedback to contributors
- Escalate critical quality concerns
Financial Review
Evaluate AI-generated finance explanations, financial calculations, investment analyses, corporate finance discussions, accounting interpretations, valuation workflows, financial statement analyses, risk assessments, market summaries, budgeting and forecasting content, capital markets discussions, and financial reasoning exercises.
Verify financial accuracy, analytical reasoning quality, calculation correctness, accounting treatment accuracy, risk-awareness, terminology correctness, instruction compliance, clarity of explanation, and appropriate financial caution.
Trainer & QA Communication
- Communicate guideline updates and workflow changes
- Clarify finance-review standards
- Maintain contributor alignment
Question Resolution
Respond to contributor questions regarding financial reasoning, financial formulas, accounting treatment, valuation methodologies, risk analysis, investment concepts, financial assumptions, terminology usage, compliance concerns, and rubric interpretation.
Contributor Activation Management
- Follow up with inactive contributors and track engagement
- Encourage participation and task completion
Documentation Management
Create and maintain style guides, finance FAQs, quality notes, calibration tasks, examples, trackers, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
Onboarding & Training
- Conduct onboarding and training sessions
- Explain project workflows, evaluation rubrics, finance review standards, risk-awareness requirements, valuation expectations, and financial-analysis best practices
Risk & Compliance Review
Identify and flag unsupported investment claims, misleading financial guidance, overconfident financial conclusions, hallucinated financial facts, missing risk disclosures, non-compliant financial content, incorrect accounting interpretations, and personalized financial advice risks.
Process Improvement
- Identify recurring quality gaps and recommend workflow improvements
- Help build scalable QA processes for finance AI projects
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or related discipline
- 3+ years of professional experience in financial analysis, investment analysis, corporate finance, accounting, banking, valuation, FP&A, risk management, audit, fintech, or financial operations
- Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation, corporate finance, capital markets, investments, portfolio concepts, risk analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounting principles, financial ratios, and time value of money
- Ability to identify incorrect assumptions, flawed calculations, unsupported investment claims, missing caveats, hallucinated financial facts, misleading risk statements, incomplete reasoning, and accounting errors
- Strong written English, finance-review feedback, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications a plus: CFA, CPA, ACCA, FRM, CMA, CA, or equivalent
- Experience with Excel financial modeling, DCF models, comparable company analysis, budgeting systems, forecasting workflows, KPI dashboards, market research, or financial databases
- Experience leading or supporting financial analysts, accountants, auditors, finance reviewers, researchers, educators, QA teams, or annotation teams
- Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, or rubric-based QA
- Familiarity with Discord, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and project management systems
