In this role, you will act as the technical backbone of a high-performing sales organization, bridging engineering expertise with commercial strategy to drive new business and expand existing accounts. You will partner closely with account managers to lead discovery conversations, deliver tailored demonstrations, and design proof-of-concept solutions that clearly communicate business value and ROI. Operating in a consultative pre-sales capacity, you will engage directly with engineering teams and executive stakeholders to translate complex technical challenges into impactful solutions. This is a highly client-facing role requiring strong communication skills, technical depth, and a passion for solving real-world industrial automation challenges. You will contribute to shaping go-to-market success while representing a leading-edge industrial software platform. Accountabilities:

  • Partner with account managers throughout the sales cycle to lead technical discovery sessions, identify customer needs, and define high-value solution strategies aligned with business outcomes.
  • Design and deliver customized product demonstrations and proof-of-concepts (POCs), focusing on ROI, operational improvements, and strategic value rather than feature-based presentations.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to prospects and customers, addressing objections, building confidence, and supporting decision-making across technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Support client onboarding, technical evaluations, and solution scoping to ensure accurate understanding of requirements and successful transition to implementation teams.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, webinars, and trade shows to strengthen brand presence and generate qualified sales pipeline opportunities.

Requirements:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or solutions consulting role in B2B software, or 5–8+ years in electrical engineering or industrial automation with client-facing responsibilities.
  • Strong hands-on experience with ECAD/CAE or similar engineering tools used in electrical design, panel building, or industrial systems environments.
  • Proven ability to conduct deep discovery sessions, uncover customer pain points, and deliver compelling, value-driven demonstrations and ROI-based narratives.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise software ecosystems, including integrations with PLM, ERP, or other engineering and business systems.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage both technical teams and executive decision-makers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% within the United States and work in a fully remote environment.
