Public Policy Economist (AI Training)

About the Role

We're looking for economists with public policy experience to help shape how AI understands and communicates economic reasoning. Your expertise will directly influence the quality of AI-generated policy analysis — making a real-world impact on one of the most consequential technology frontiers of our time.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where you set your own schedule and contribute on your own terms.

What You'll Do

  • Review and evaluate AI-generated public policy and applied economics content for accuracy, rigor, and real-world relevance
  • Assess economic reasoning across areas such as regulation, welfare policy, fiscal policy, and public programs
  • Identify logical errors, unsupported conclusions, or misleading framings in AI outputs
  • Provide clear, structured written feedback to improve the quality of AI training data
  • Apply your applied economics background to validate policy scenarios and analytical conclusions
  • Work independently and asynchronously — no meetings required

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of experience working or teaching in public policy, applied economics, or a closely related field
  • Strong grasp of policy analysis frameworks and economic tradeoffs
  • Able to critically evaluate written economic arguments, recommendations, and models
  • Skilled at providing detailed, constructive written feedback
  • Self-directed and reliable — comfortable managing your own workload and deadlines

Nice to Have

  • Graduate degree in Economics, Public Policy, or a related discipline
  • Background in government agencies, think tanks, research institutions, or policy consulting
  • Familiarity with AI systems or content evaluation workflows
