Role Overview

Join Mercor as an Accounting Expert and contribute to training advanced AI systems through high-quality technical content.

In this role, you will author, review, and annotate accounting-related tasks used to evaluate AI model performance. Your work will help AI systems better understand financial reporting, auditing processes, and accounting decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Author and review accounting problem sets for AI evaluation
• Create tasks involving:
• Financial statements
• Reconciliation schedules
• Ledger entries
• Write structured reference solutions
• Apply quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Annotate and evaluate AI-generated accounting outputs

Required Skills & Qualifications

• PhD in Accounting

OR CPA + 3+ years experience

OR BA/BS + 5+ years applied accounting experience

• Strong knowledge in at least two of:
• Financial accounting
• Managerial accounting
• Auditing
• Tax
• Assurance
• Ability to interpret:
• Financial statements
• Reconciliations
• General ledger data
• Strong technical writing skills
• Ability to explain reasoning step-by-step

Work Details

• Commitment: ~20 hours/week
• Work Type: Fully remote
• Flexible schedule
