The Opportunity:

The Financial Operations Specialist II is responsible for responding to internal and external customer inquiries and researching and resolving balancing problems. This role will also assist with the training of department staff and providing update to the procedural documentation of the various functions. The Specialist II will manage service tickets from our clients and internal staff and will review the daily workflow to ensure items are completed within department guidelines to minimize financial liability and risk to Velera.

Day in the Life:

  • Assist with training new staff in Financial Operations functions.
  • Review and provide updates for job procedures and policies within the department.
  • Complete daily exception item processing in adherence with established timeframes.
  • Correct errors with clearing institutions, 3rd party vendors, and/or credit unions.
  • Review physical checks and process validated payments, reject and return payments that cannot be validated following departmental guidelines and adhering to all documentation requirements.
  • Work and resolve settlements tickets from internal and external clients via ticketing portal.
  • Work with internal and external customers and vendors to resolve settlement issues and inquiries on functions performed and products serviced in Financial Operations.
  • Reconcile balance consolidation daily transaction postings between vendors, cardholders, and Credit Union/FI’s, completing requests related to check copies, stop payments, and other inquiries related to this product
  • Process and balance daily Convenience check files ensuring transactions and returns are completed within the established guidelines and bank timeframes.  Completing check copy, stop payment and other inquires related to this product
  • Maintain current, working knowledge of both in-house and external systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent business experience required.
  • Four (4) years accounting or banking related experience required; preferably in the area of Settlement or Finance.

Pay Equity

$19.18 - $23.99

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
