Producer III
Job description
Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Creative Assets Technical Post Producer / Editor (Contract Worker) to own creative asset delivery + technical execution across Meta Reality Labs Entertainment's (RLE) Video Production (RVP) slate. This is a hybrid role: part producer (DRI for trailer, teaser, sizzle, and marketing asset deliveries across originals + 3D conversions), part creator (cut, build, and finish creative assets in-house when speed or specificity demands it rather than routing to external editorial vendors), part technical execution layer (ad-hoc transcoding, encoding, internal review setup, asset prep work).
The role exists to keep creative asset deliveries on a clean track as content volume scales — without diluting title-level post producers (who are focused on the principal cut) or technical SMEs (who are focused on R&D and pipeline). The successful candidate is an execution generalist with editing chops + technical curiosity, comfortable jumping between tools like Premiere Pro / Media Encoder, Resolve, FFmpeg, terminal / S3 workflows, and immersive (VR180, 3D) review tooling.
This is a remote, contract worker (CW) position and not a full-time employee (FTE) role. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated technician-editor hybrid who likes building working processes around novel content formats and is comfortable owning delivery across many small parallel tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
Creative Asset Delivery — DRI Across Slate
Own creative asset delivery (trailers, teasers, sizzles, marketing cuts) across the active RVP slate — narrative originals, 3D conversions, and sports highlights
Drive partner and cross-functional approvals on marketing cuts; manage review cycles with agencies and partners
Creative asset spec compliance + safe-area QC across distribution surfaces
Trailer / teaser / sizzle delivery across originals — including cut + finishing work as needed
Cross-slate coordination on creative asset deadlines — partner with the RVP Post Coordinator on tracking + status reporting
Technical Execution Layer
Ad-hoc internal video transcoding, encoding, and asset prep across RVP-team needs
Internal VR review setup — sequence prep, headset-ready asset generation, review staging
VR review tool adoption + championing — drive standardization of internal review workflows around our VR tooling
S3 / terminal / FFmpeg workflow execution for non-standard format conversions, batch operations, and ad-hoc problem-solving
Bridge work between content vendors and platform ingest when format / encoding gaps surface
Cut / Finishing Work (as needed)
Execute internal cuts on existing footage when creative asset deliveries require it (vs. routing every cut request to external editorial vendors)
Coordinate with external finishing vendors on cut handoffs when external execution is required
Light color / sound / graphics work for internal review purposes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Post Producers on title-level creative asset needs as titles enter post
Partner with RVP Technical Production & Enablement — including audio, immersive media and technical SMEs — on technical execution that requires SME consultation
Partner with Programming + Marketing on launch-window asset deliveries
Partner with the platform ingest team on asset spec alignment
Documentation & Process
Document recurring technical execution patterns into reusable runbooks
Contribute to RVP's internal tools / pipeline documentation as new workflows are validated
must have skills
Hands-on proficiency with software such as Premiere Pro + Media Encoder, Resolve, Frame.io; strong working knowledge of FFmpeg, command-line workflows, S3 / cloud storage operations
Comfort navigating non-standard professional video formats (IMF, DCP, ProRes variants, QuickTime, MXF)
Self-motivated execution generalist — comfortable owning many small deliverables in parallel
Excellent written communication skills, with the patience to document workflows for repeatability
Experience with immersive video, VR, 360 and/or 3D content required
Experience with live broadcast strongly preferred
Flexibility to attend virtual meetings across multiple time zones
Experience in Google Suite
Demonstrated ability to QC creative asset deliveries against spec — safe areas, lower-thirds, audio mix, frame rate, color space
Experience producing trailers / teasers / sizzles for film, series, or live content in a partner / agency review environment
Tech-savvy enough to adopt new review tooling and immersive workflows
Quality discipline — particularly the judgment to catch hallucinated / incorrect commands before they ship in AI-augmented workflows
nice to have
Familiarity with AI tools and workflows in a media production context — and the curiosity to adopt new AI-augmented patterns as our team integrates them into our pipeline
Background: Streamer background (Netflix, League (NBA, etc), Hulu, etc., film maker agency, general media landscape
Skills:
• Technical or creative production experience or combination of both
• Equipment operation/understanding in a fast-paced production environment
• Experience with technical broadcast operations or in an advisement.
• Knowledge of technical video equipment including switchers, audio boards, routers, GFX creation, cameras, lighting, microphones and other relevant production equipment
Education/Experience:
5+ years experience as an editor and / or technical post producer in a media production environment
None required — equivalent professional editing/finishing experience accepted in lieu of a degree. Bachelor's in Film/Media or equivalent a plus. No certifications required (software proficiency matters more than certs).
