The main function of a Technical Program Manager is to provide successful definition, implementation and delivery of complex programs that require cross-functional collaboration and interdependencies across a group of projects and/or related activities.
Project Manager II
Job description
As a Content Project Manager on the Assets & Partner Approvals (APA) team, you will manage the end-to-end approval process for partner content assets across Meta Reality Labs' VR, Wearables, and Horizon Worlds portfolios. You will receive asset and approval requests from internal cross-functional partners, coordinate with external developers and IP holders to secure the necessary permissions, and track delivery timelines to completion—communicating status, risks, and updates both internally to stakeholders and externally to developer partners.
You will partner closely with the APA Program Manager, leveraging knowledge gained from cross-functional meetings, conversations with content owners, and other internal sources to proactively share information on asset availability, approval statuses, and content updates with XFN partners and organizational stakeholders on a regular cadence. You will also be a key owner in the events process, partnering with Marketing and Events teams to identify content for flagship moments and shepherding asset requests to completion for tentpole events such as Meta Connect.
Core Responsibilities
- Point of contact for content that is in development and live on our platform
- Proactive communication to internal stakeholders highlighting risks, concerns and blockers
- Ability to parse through multiple sources of information and pull the right information to share out
- Developing and maintaining relationships with our internal teams and 3rd party developers
- Holding cross-functional partners accountable in providing timely status updates
- Understanding of products and experiences being shipped in VR across all Meta platforms
- Ability to speak to titles during cross functional meetings and flag strategies that may have operational risks
- Own and manage the in-depth approval process and request queue coming from all our XFN partners
- Ability to speak to the organization strategy and provide valuable strategic input, while at the same time having an ‘Operations first’ mindset
- Comfortable with representing the organization and present program updates in group settings, including occasional updates to leadership
- Understand nuances in developer communications and how to deliver and manage sensitive and/or private information, protecting our relationship with managed partners from internal churn on requests
- Partnering with Content Org, Marketing and Events teams to identify the right content to showcase at flagship events, secure asset and/or demo build approvals required from IP holders
Key Qualifications
- 2-4 years experience in project management, game development or related field
- Ability to handle assignments and information of a confidential nature
- Detail-oriented mindset with an analytical view on process, able to identify opportunities and actions needed to improve how we work as a team
- Demonstrated passion for video games and familiar with multiple genres of VR, PC and/or console games
- Solid understanding of technical specifications for digital and print assets (i.e. resolution standards, file formats, etc) and PC hardware and software (graphics cards, memory, storage, display adapters, general PC gaming hardware knowledge)
- Above average proficiency in Windows or Mac OS (command line, file structure, permissions, etc.)
- Can thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain focused while juggling multiple tasks and assignments
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to navigate complex cross-functional initiatives with diplomacy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with VR content
- Experience with new hardware consumer launches, and familiarity in handling new types of proprietary software
- Experience with Salesforce and Digital Asset Management tools
• PMI or PMP certification preferred.
