Social Media Lead V

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Social Media Lead to join Product Social in Content Studio on a temporary basis, covering maternity leave. This role will oversee the social presence and strategy for @instagram — one of Meta's largest and most culturally relevant owned channels. The ideal candidate will be passionate about social media, pop culture and tech innovation, with a proven track record of leading social strategy, driving engagement and executing high-profile brand partnerships.

Responsibilities

Channel Strategy & Execution

• Review and approve content from a high-impact team as they execute social media strategies for @instagram across platforms (Instagram Feed, Reels, Stories, Threads, etc.)
• Create content across high-priority series, including our product series, and provide on-the-ground support for shoots
• Oversee content planning and performance tracking to ensure alignment with brand and audience goals

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with team to support cross-functional work (across Instagram Comms, Product Marketing, Partnerships, Instagram Marketing) to amplify product go-to-market moments, cultural tentpoles and brand partnerships

Team Support

• Maintain team workflows, approval processes (visuals + copy) and production cadences during the transition

Performance & Insights

• Analyze social performance metrics and provide actionable insights to team and stakeholders via recurring reporting cadences
• Partner with analytics to evolve measurement frameworks and surface learnings over raw metrics

Brand & Culture

• Uphold @instagram's brand voice and visual identity across all content
• Ensure all content is inclusive, authentic, and resonates with diverse audiences across priority markets

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in social media management, preferably within tech, entertainment, or culture-forward brands
• Deep familiarity with Instagram (Feed, Reels, Stories, Threads) as a platform and content ecosystem
• Understanding of social trends, emerging formats, creator communities, and platform best practices
• Strong communication, project management, and analytical skills
• Experience with social analytics tools, reporting dashboards, and performance measurement
• Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment
• History of creating content about product features and tools, especially around high priority announcements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on social for a major platform or media brand
• Familiarity with audience strategy (global markets)
• Background in content series development or editorial programming
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities with a bias toward action

The pay range that Tundra in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $80/hour - $90/hour.
