Job description

Clinical Study Manager (AI Training)

About the Role

What if your clinical operations expertise could directly shape how AI understands and models the complexities of clinical research? We're looking for experienced Clinical Study Managers to help us build and validate AI systems trained on real-world clinical trial workflows — bringing your hands-on knowledge of trial execution, vendor management, and study budgets to one of the most exciting intersections of healthcare and technology.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for seasoned clinical research professionals who want to apply their expertise in a new and impactful way.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Oversee and evaluate clinical trial timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure projects stay on track
  • Review and assess study budgets, forecasting, and financial tracking across multiple vendors and partners
  • Apply your operational expertise to identify risks, resolve issues, and keep complex studies running smoothly
  • Coordinate insights across CROs, sites, and internal teams to support seamless study execution
  • Contribute domain knowledge to help AI models better understand clinical trial operations and best practices
  • Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Experienced clinical research professional with a strong background in trial project management
  • Skilled at managing budgets, timelines, and multi-vendor relationships across complex studies
  • Comfortable coordinating multiple workstreams and keeping stakeholders aligned throughout the trial lifecycle
  • Detail-oriented and methodical — you notice when something is off before it becomes a problem
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently without close supervision

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation systems
  • Familiarity with AI tools or content evaluation platforms
  • Background spanning multiple therapeutic areas or trial phases
  • Experience in a CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical environment

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs and AI teams
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Gain unique exposure to how advanced AI models are trained using real-world clinical data
  • Contribute to work that sits at the frontier of AI and healthcare innovation
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
