Neuroscience & Cognitive Science Quality Assurance Lead (QAL)
Job description
Job Summary
As a Neuroscience & Cognitive Science Quality Assurance Lead (QAL), you will oversee quality, consistency, and contributor performance across neuroscience, cognitive science, neurobiology, and brain science AI training projects.
You will review AI-generated neuroscience content, cognitive science explanations, research summaries, experimental interpretations, and trainer/QA submissions to ensure outputs are scientifically accurate, evidence-based, ethically appropriate, and aligned with project standards.
Your work will directly contribute to improving advanced AI systems by ensuring neuroscience and cognitive science training data reflects rigorous scientific reasoning, methodological awareness, and responsible interpretation of brain-behavior relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Monitoring
- Review neuroscience and cognitive science tasks and QA outputs
- Identify recurring quality issues, provide detailed written feedback, and escalate critical quality concerns
Scientific Review
- Review and evaluate neuroscience explanations, cognitive science explanations, research summaries, experimental interpretations, brain-behavior claims, cognitive theory applications, learning and memory discussions, neuroanatomy explanations, decision-making and perception content, and scientific reasoning workflows
- Assess work for scientific accuracy, conceptual precision, research literacy, experimental-method understanding, brain-behavior reasoning, statistical caution, ethical awareness, clarity, instruction adherence, and rubric compliance
Trainer & QA Communication
- Communicate guidelines, workflow changes, quality standards, scientific review expectations, and evaluation criteria
Contributor Support
- Answer questions involving neural mechanisms, cognition, perception, attention, memory, learning, experimental design, statistical interpretation, clinical caution, ethics, and rubric interpretation
Activation Management
- Follow up with inactive contributors, track engagement and participation, escalate availability concerns when needed
Documentation & Onboarding
- Create and maintain style guides, documentation, FAQs, quality notes, examples, calibration tasks, and onboarding resources
- Conduct onboarding and training sessions for contributors
Safety & Ethics Review
- Identify and flag neuromyths, pseudoscientific claims, unsupported causal conclusions, overclaiming research findings, flawed study interpretation, misleading clinical implications, incorrect terminology, ethically problematic recommendations, and overconfident brain-behavior claims
Process Improvement
- Improve QA workflows and identify recurring quality gaps
- Develop scalable neuroscience review processes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent background in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Neurobiology, Cognitive Psychology, Computational Neuroscience, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or related disciplines
- Strong English communication skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in neuroscience research, cognitive science research, laboratory work, academic review, science communication, experimental design, data analysis, or teaching
- Strong understanding of Neural Systems, Cognition, Perception, Attention, Memory, Learning, Language, Decision-Making, Neuroanatomy, Neural Signaling, Research Methods, and Brain-Behavior Relationships
- Ability to identify neuromyths, unsupported causal claims, flawed study interpretation, incorrect terminology, pseudoscience, misleading clinical implications, and statistical overreach
