About the Role
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab to support a Frontier Code Agents project.
This role focuses on evaluating and improving frontier AI coding models through realistic data engineering workflows and structured technical assessments.
Contributors use professional data engineering expertise to review, compare, and improve AI-generated implementations involving ETL pipelines, data warehouses, analytics infrastructure, and distributed data systems.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate AI Coding Agents
- Review AI-generated implementations involving ETL pipelines, data warehouses, analytics platforms, distributed data systems, and data infrastructure
Data Engineering Assessment
- Apply professional judgment to realistic data engineering scenarios
- Review data pipelines, data modeling approaches, warehouse architectures, analytics infrastructure, and distributed processing systems
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of professional data engineering experience
- Experience building ETL pipelines, data warehouses, analytics platforms, or distributed data systems
AI Coding Tools
Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or similar tools.
Important Note

Compensation
- $400 per accepted task (~$80/hr effective rate)
