About the Role
Turing is seeking an experienced Atlassian Jira Administrator / Lead Atlassian Developer to lead the design, customization, integration, and governance of enterprise Atlassian environments.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and related Atlassian technologies. You will architect scalable solutions, develop custom applications and automations, integrate Atlassian products with external systems, and mentor engineering teams while helping organizations improve collaboration, project delivery, and DevOps efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Atlassian Platform Development
- Lead customization and administration of Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket
- Design and implement custom workflows, issue types, screens, permission schemes, and automation rules
- Develop Atlassian applications using Atlassian Forge, Atlassian Connect, and Atlassian Plugin SDK (Java)
Scripting & Automation
- Create custom solutions using ScriptRunner, Groovy, and Jira Automation
- Build Confluence macros, custom UI components, and workflow automations
System Integration
- Integrate Atlassian tools with internal and third-party systems
- Develop integrations using REST APIs, Webhooks, and Middleware services
- Connect Atlassian platforms with Slack, Microsoft Teams, GitHub, Trello, and enterprise business systems
DevOps & CI/CD
- Build and maintain CI/CD workflows using Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, and Bamboo
- Support repository management and branching strategies
Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Architect scalable Atlassian ecosystem solutions
- Establish coding standards and development best practices
- Conduct code reviews and technical audits
- Mentor junior engineers and enforce security and quality standards
Governance & Collaboration
- Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams
- Translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Implement governance standards for permissions, content lifecycle management, compliance, and security
Required Qualifications
- 8–10 years of software development experience
- 5+ years of Atlassian ecosystem experience
- Strong experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Java, Groovy, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React
- Atlassian development expertise: Atlassian Forge, Atlassian Connect, Jira REST APIs, Confluence APIs, Bitbucket integrations, ScriptRunner, Jira automation frameworks
- DevOps experience: Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, Bamboo, Git, repository management, branching strategies
Preferred Qualifications
- Agile, Scrum, or Kanban experience
- DevSecOps knowledge
- OAuth and JWT authentication, Webhook security, SAML / SSO implementations
- Atlassian Access administration
- Certifications: Atlassian Certified Expert, ACP-100, ACP-120, PMP, ScrumMaster, SAFe
