Role Overview
We are seeking a Gameplay Engineer to build high-quality example content, tooling, and documentation for a creator-focused game development platform.
In this role, you will develop playable experiences such as mini-games, custom mechanics, and interactive environments that demonstrate platform capabilities and best practices for external developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement gameplay systems and interactive experiences
- Build example projects including mini-games and custom gameplay scenarios
- Develop scripts, configuration files, and gameplay logic systems
- Translate technical requirements into functional gameplay implementations
- Contribute to technical documentation, tutorials, and developer guides
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and stakeholders
- Analyze gameplay performance and ensure stability and usability
- Maintain high standards for code quality, security, and maintainability
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in game or gameplay development
- Strong scripting skills (JavaScript or TypeScript preferred)
- Experience building game content, mods, or extensions
- Understanding of gameplay systems, entity definitions, and scripting APIs
- Ability to deliver projects from concept to completion
- Familiarity with agile development workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Minecraft-style platforms or moddable game systems
- Portfolio of playable game content (mini-games, maps, add-ons)
- Strong understanding of gameplay design and player experience
- Experience writing technical documentation or tutorials
- Familiarity with version control and collaborative workflows
- Ability to create demo videos or walkthroughs

Compensation
- $40 – $43.27 per hour
