Swahili Language Specialist – Freelance AI Trainer

Job Summary

Invisible Technology is seeking a Swahili Language Specialist – Freelance AI Trainer to help advance the next generation of AI systems.

In this role, you will apply deep linguistic expertise to evaluate and strengthen Swahili language outputs generated by large-scale AI models. Your work will directly enhance grammatical accuracy, logical consistency, cultural nuance, and linguistic richness across AI-powered applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and annotate Swahili language outputs for grammar, syntax, morphology, semantics, phonetics, and pragmatics.
• Challenge AI models on complex linguistic topics such as noun classes, verb conjugation, idiomatic expressions, and cultural context.
• Converse with AI models in structured scenarios to test reasoning and language fluency.
• Identify reproducible error patterns and document failure modes.
• Provide detailed, metacognitive explanations ("show your work") to improve model reasoning.
• Collaborate with teams to refine prompt engineering strategies and evaluation metrics.

Required Qualifications

• Native or expert-level proficiency in Swahili.
• Advanced academic background in Swahili, linguistics, or a closely related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
• Strong understanding of Swahili grammar, morphology, and linguistic theory.
• Experience in translation, linguistic analysis, language teaching, or academic research.
• Clear and structured written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and analytical thinking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Peer-reviewed publications in linguistics or related fields.
• Experience in AI training, linguistic annotation, or evaluation projects.
• Experience documenting complex reasoning processes.
