Scientific Research Evaluators – AI Training

About the Role

Mercor is seeking Scientific Research Evaluators to support a high-impact AI evaluation workflow in partnership with a leading AI research lab.

In this role, you will review and assess AI-generated research reports related to experimental datasets, statistical analyses, research comparisons, chemical compound properties, and environmental measurements.

Your evaluations will help ensure that advanced AI systems produce accurate, reliable, and scientifically sound outputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated research reports for accuracy, clarity, and data integrity
• Assess interpretations of experimental data and statistical analyses
• Compare research findings across multiple studies
• Verify scientific tables, compound properties, and measurement data using credible academic sources
• Identify inconsistencies in methodology, experimental reporting, and scientific conclusions
• Complete evaluation tasks independently while meeting deadlines
• Maintain consistent quality standards across all assigned reports

Preferred Experience

• 2–3 years of experience in laboratory research, applied scientific research, or data analysis
• Experience working with experimental datasets and controlled study results
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and scientific data interpretation
• Experience comparing scientific studies and evaluating methodological rigor
• Familiarity with chemical compound data, physical measurements, or environmental field data
• Ability to source and validate peer-reviewed scientific data and academic datasets

Educational Background

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following areas:

• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Environmental Science
• Related scientific disciplines
