Turing accelerates frontier AI research through high-quality data, advanced training pipelines, and expert contributors across STEM, reasoning, multilinguality, multimodality, and agent systems.

Role Overview

We are seeking an AI Training Specialist – Biology to design advanced Biology problems for training and evaluating state-of-the-art AI models.

This role focuses on converting complex, often diagram-based biological concepts into precise, text-only, fully solvable problems with definitive answers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design and curate upper-undergraduate and graduate-level Biology problems with complete, well-structured solutions.
  • Create challenging, realistic tasks that expose failure modes in frontier AI systems.
  • Convert diagram-heavy or multi-part biology questions into self-contained text-only problems.
  • Write rigorous explanations and verify scientific accuracy throughout.
  • Evaluate AI-generated responses, diagnose reasoning errors, and refine problems to meet difficulty targets.
  • Review and improve Biology tasks created by other contributors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain quality and consistency across task batches.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Biology or a closely related field.
  • Strong upper-undergraduate or higher-level Biology background.
  • Fluent written English with the ability to produce precise scientific explanations.
  • Experience with teaching, grading, exam creation, or research-based analytical work.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and consistency in terminology and reasoning.
  • Interest in AI model evaluation and understanding how training data impacts model behavior.

Biology Domain Expertise

  • Molecular Biology
  • Cell Biology
  • Genetics & Genomics
  • Biochemistry
  • Physiology
  • Ecology or Systems Biology

Additional strengths:

  • Ability to translate pathways, gene regulation mechanisms, and experimental setups into text-only formats.
  • Experience with quantitative or semi-quantitative biology (e.g., enzyme kinetics, growth rates, genetic probabilities).

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience creating AI training or educational content.
  • Familiarity with LLM evaluation pipelines and difficulty calibration methods.

Perks of Freelancing with Turing

  • Fully remote work environment.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects with leading LLM companies.
  • Potential for contract extension based on performance and project needs.
