Role Overview
Mercor is seeking STEM undergraduate students to contribute to AI training and evaluation projects.
In this role, you will support research, evaluation, and content-related tasks that help improve the performance and safety of advanced AI systems. This opportunity is well-suited for individuals with strong analytical thinking, solid academic foundations, and the ability to conduct independent research.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analyze technical or scientific information
- Evaluate content for accuracy, clarity, and reliability
- Apply structured guidelines to complete evaluation and annotation tasks
- Contribute to improving AI system outputs through feedback and analysis
- Work independently on open-ended tasks requiring critical thinking
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a STEM undergraduate program OR hold only an undergraduate STEM degree
- Must not have experience in explosives, pyrotechnics, demolition, or military EOD
- Must be a U.S. person currently located in a Five Eyes country
- Strong information literacy and ability to evaluate source credibility
Preferred Qualifications
- Major in chemistry, physics, engineering, or a closely related field
- Comfortable with independent, open-ended research tasks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Work Details
- Fully remote and flexible

Contract & Payment Terms
- Independent contractor engagement
- Flexible schedule — work on your own time
- Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise
- Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early based on performance and business needs
