Job Description

Role Overview

Mercor is hiring British English Professional Voice Actors for a short-term project supporting a leading AI lab.

Participants will help improve AI models’ ability to understand and generate spoken English by recording high-quality audio data.

Professional voice acting experience is preferred but not required. Individuals with speaking experience in music, television, podcasts, YouTube, Twitch streaming, radio, comedy, or other audio-based fields are also encouraged to apply.

Project Details

  • Project Duration: Approximately 1–2 weeks
  • Start Date: March 9, 2026
  • Time Commitment: 2–10 hours per week
  • Pay: $225 USD per finished hour of recorded audio
  • Kickoff Call: Required before starting

Responsibilities

  • Record spoken audio following provided transcripts
  • Deliver recordings with clear enunciation and natural pacing
  • Maintain a neutral to upbeat “customer service” tone
  • Follow punctuation and pacing instructions carefully
  • Edit recordings when necessary to match natural speech patterns

  • Access to a professional home recording setup, including:
  • Professional microphone
  • Soundproofed recording environment
