Job Description

About Turing

Turing is one of the world’s fastest-growing AI companies accelerating the advancement and deployment of powerful AI systems.

Turing helps customers in two ways:

  • Working with the world’s leading AI labs to advance frontier model capabilities in reasoning, coding, agentic behavior, multimodality, multilinguality, STEM, and frontier knowledge.
  • Leveraging that work to build real-world AI systems that solve mission-critical priorities for companies.

Role Overview

We are seeking creative and detail-oriented professionals with strong visual interpretation skills to help advance large multimodal AI systems. In this role, you will work on annotating and analyzing videos and images, capturing intricate details such as people, objects, environments, relationships, emotions, and storytelling flow.

Your work will directly contribute to training next-generation AI models to better perceive, interpret, and reason about the visual world—helping them understand scenes, motion, and context just as humans do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze short video clips and images to identify and annotate subjects, settings, actions, and emotions.
  • Describe temporal sequences, scene transitions, and interactions in videos with high accuracy.
  • Label complex visual cues such as mood, lighting, and spatial relationships.
  • Follow detailed annotation guidelines to ensure consistency, clarity, and data quality.
  • Validate AI-generated outputs for correctness, structure, and relevance.
  • Collaborate with project leads to align on evolving annotation standards and quality benchmarks.
  • Contribute structured datasets that improve AI model understanding of both static and dynamic visual information.

Requirements

  • Strong English proficiency (reading, writing, and communication).
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow nuanced instructions with precision.
  • Comfort using basic computer tools and handling file uploads/media formats.
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to understand context and intent.
  • Prior image/video annotation experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
  • Availability of at least 20 hours per week preferred (finalized at onboarding).
  • Reliable computer (desktop/laptop) and stable internet connection.

Perks of Freelancing with Turing

  • Fully remote work environment.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects with leading AI labs.
  • Potential contract extensions based on performance and project needs.

Engagement Details

  • Engagement Type: Contractor / Freelancer
  • Commitment: 4 hours per day, 20 hours per week
  • Timezone Overlap: 4 hours overlap with PST required
  • Benefits: No paid leave or medical benefits
