Role Overview
Join our customer's team as a SecOps Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in securing complex applications and infrastructure.
This expert-level position focuses on vulnerability detection, secure code review, and proactive remediation, ensuring strong defenses against evolving cybersecurity threats. You will collaborate remotely with engineering and security teams in a fast-paced, security-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform expert-level secure code reviews focusing on OWASP Top 10 and CWE vulnerability classes
- Identify, triage, and remediate application-layer vulnerabilities such as:
- Broken access control
- IDOR
- SQL injection
- Command injection
- Deserialization flaws
- Develop and maintain security automation tools using Python, Go, JavaScript, or TypeScript
- Conduct penetration testing and document findings clearly
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive remediation efforts
- Advise development teams on secure coding best practices
- Stay updated on emerging threats and security trends
- Communicate findings through detailed reports and presentations
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering or security operations
- Strong focus on application-layer security
- Proficiency in:
- Python
- Go (Golang)
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- Experience with secure code review and penetration testing
- Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and CWE vulnerabilities
- Proven ability to detect and remediate vulnerabilities in production systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent English
- Availability for at least 6+ hours overlap with Eastern Time
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with vulnerability management platforms
- Security certifications such as OSCP, GIAC, or equivalent
- Background in cloud security or container security
