Multilingual Fashion and Beauty Expert

1. Role Overview

Mercor is collaborating with a leading AI lab on a large-scale AI training initiative focused on improving style analysis, trend interpretation, and consumer-facing reasoning in advanced language models. We’re seeking experienced Fashion and Beauty experts to contribute by creating and evaluating fashion- and beauty-related prompts and responses.

This is a multilingual opportunity. We are specifically seeking experts who are fluent and deeply engaged in one or more of the following languages:

Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Russian, German, Arabic, Thai, Tamil, or Hindi.

Importantly, we are not looking for translation ability alone. Candidates must have sustained, hands-on engagement with fashion and beauty within their linguistic and cultural context — including familiarity with local trends, brands, influencers, terminology, aesthetic standards, and consumer preferences.

This role is ideal for serious fashion and beauty enthusiasts, content creators, stylists, makeup artists, reviewers, or dedicated hobbyists who actively participate in fashion and beauty communities in their language ecosystem.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Author realistic fashion and beauty prompts spanning styling advice, trend analysis, product comparisons, skincare routines, makeup techniques, brand positioning, and seasonal collections
• Review and revise AI-generated responses for accuracy, cultural authenticity, trend relevance, and clarity
• Write high-quality human-authored “gold” responses for nuanced or context-sensitive fashion and beauty scenarios
• Create controlled prompt variations that test subtle differences in body type, skin type, climate, cultural norms, occasion, or budget constraints
• Evaluate outputs across different tones (editorial, advisory, conversational, technical) and instruction constraints
• Identify model failure cases involving outdated trends, culturally inappropriate recommendations, unrealistic styling advice, or inaccurate product knowledge

3. Ideal Qualifications

• 2+ years of sustained, serious engagement with fashion and/or beauty as a hobby or practice (e.g., content creation, styling, makeup artistry, product reviewing, trend analysis, community participation)
• Active participation in fashion and beauty discourse within at least one of the following languages: Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Russian, German, Arabic, Thai, Tamil, or Hindi
• Strong familiarity with regional brands, cultural norms, aesthetic standards, and consumer behaviors within your language context
• Ability to articulate stylistic reasoning, product comparisons, and aesthetic critiques clearly in the target language
• Strong written communication skills and thoughtful editorial judgment

Expected commitment: 10–40 hours per week

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
