Job Description

About Turing

Based in San Francisco, California, Turing is the world’s leading research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a trusted partner for global enterprises deploying advanced AI systems.

Turing supports customers in two ways:

  • Accelerating frontier research with high-quality data, advanced training pipelines, and top AI researchers specializing in coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and agents.
  • Applying that expertise to help enterprises transform AI from proof of concept into proprietary intelligence with systems that perform reliably, deliver measurable impact, and drive lasting results on the P&L.

Project Overview

A leading AI research organization is seeking oncologists for a paid consulting project focused on improving AI systems for clinical trial matching in oncology.

The work involves reviewing patient cases, evaluating how well AI identifies appropriate trials based on eligibility criteria, and providing expert judgment on treatment selection and risk–benefit considerations. Sessions are remote and flexible (approximately 4 hours total). Your input directly shapes how these tools support patients navigating complex clinical trial decisions.

Compensation is competitive and will be shared after clearing the screening interview.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in platinum-level data collection and expert clinical annotation activities.
  • Review, validate, and provide expert input on oncology-related clinical content.
  • Apply real-world clinical judgment to ensure outputs align with oncology standards of care.
  • Support evaluation of AI-assisted or agentic tooling (e.g., Gemini-based workflows) for clinical use cases.
  • Collaborate with internal teams during onboarding, training, and ongoing review cycles.
  • Provide feedback to refine clinical guidelines, rubrics, and tooling where required.

Required Qualifications

  • Board-Certified Physician in Oncology or a relevant oncology subspecialty

(ABIM, ABR, or ABS certification pathway required)

  • Active U.S. State Medical License (at least one unrestricted license; verifiable via state board records)
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) listed in the NPPES registry
  • Active Clinical Practice with direct patient care within the past 12 months

(Retired or non-practicing physicians are not eligible)

  • U.S.-Based (must currently reside and practice within the United States)
  • Physician-Level Expertise Required

(Attending physicians only; residents, fellows, students, nurses, or trainees are not eligible)

Other Details

  • Initial focus is on Oncology / Clinical Oncology roles.
  • For future phases (e.g., secondary tasks involving agentic AI workflows), trained reviewers may be evaluated separately.
  • Candidates may be asked to share CVs as part of the vetting process.
  • All clinicians must be U.S.-based, licensed, and actively practicing at onboarding.
  • The team may request details on Internal Medicine backgrounds to identify candidates with direct oncology practice experience.

Offer Details

  • Engagement Type: Contractor assignment (no paid leave or medical benefits)
  • Contract Duration: 2 months, with possibility to extend
  • Location: United States (remote)

Evaluation Process

  • Client Interview: 30 minutes
